CLINKER GRINDING UNIT
Clinker Grinding Unit essentially comprises of:
a) Cement Grinding Section
b) Packing Section
CEMENT GRINDING SECTION:
Clinker and Gypsum, the basic raw materials for producing Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC) are stored in the Storage Yard.
Clinker (95 %) and Gypsum (5 %) are extracted from their individual stock piles, by means of the Weigh Feeders / Table Feeders. In the underground tunnel system, the material is first collected in a Steel Bin, and a Slide Gate controls the feed rate of the material into the Weigh feeders.
These proportioned quantities of Clinker and Gypsum are then discharged into a common horizontal Belt Conveyor located below the Weigh feeders. The Horizontal Belt Conveyor transfers the material on to an Inclined Belt Conveyor, which in turn feeds the material into the Cement Mill. Alongwith Clinker and Gypsum, either Pozzolona or Slag can also be added to obtain Pozzolona Cement or Slag Cement respectively.
The Cement Mill is essentially a 2 comportment, closed circuit Tube mill with classifier / separator, where the mixture of Clinker, Gypsum (& Pozzolona or Slag) is ground to required fineness. Blaines specific surface.
The ground cement power discharged from the Mill is conveyed by means of an Air Slide / Screw Conveyor to the Air Lift, which in turn elevats the cement into a Cement Silo where it is stored.
PACKING SECTION:
Cement is withdrawn from the Silo bottom, through the Rotary Cutt Off Valve and a Rotary Vane Feeder and packed in 50 kg. bags by a Stationary type Automatic Packing Machine. The branded and stitched cement bags are then loaded on to the trucks or are carried to the warehouse by means of a Portable (Bag Handling) Conveyor.
The spill-over cement is collected in the Spillage Hopper and recycled again through the Spillage Screw Conveyor.
In order to adhere to the allowable emission levels of dust, Bag Filters are provided at the Raw material tunnel yard, Cement Mill discharge point, on top of the Storage Silo and for packing section. The emission of cement dust is within prescribed levels.
Land Requirement:
Keeping in view of expansion it is advisible to go for 3 to 4 acres of land which includes Main Plant, Administration, Workshop Buildings & essential housing (i.e. 1 Acre - 4048 sq mts)
